Foundation maths, age 5 to 6, Foundation

In Foundation, children build fundamental number sense by naming, writing, and sequencing numbers up to 20, as well as subitising and partitioning small collections. They compare objects directly by length, mass, and capacity, and sort and name familiar two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional objects. They also collect and sort everyday data using simple displays such as pictograms.
