Grade 2 math, age 7 to 8

In Grade 2, students extend their understanding of base-ten notation to numbers up to 1,000 and build fluency with addition and subtraction within 100. They solve one- and two-step word problems involving length, money, and time, and measure lengths using standard units. Students also explore foundational concepts of multiplication through equal groups and rectangular arrays, and partition shapes into equal shares.
